Comedians Nema and Double D visit VSU

Written by: Cole Edwards

Students gathered in the Student Union Ballroom for some hearty laughs on Thursday evening (Nov. 13) courtesy of comedian Degario “Double D” Turner. Hailing from Atlanta, where he has been performing comedy professionally for 16 years, Turner offered VSU students a comedic style consisting mostly of real-life takes on family, college life and dating. During his performance, Turner explained the “Double D” moniker derived from a lifelong stuttering speech impediment that causes him to often say words twice, though he pointed out, “On stage, the only time I repeat words is when they are important enough to repeat.”
