Weekly crime report 10/16 – 10/22

Oct. 16

No crimes reported.

Oct. 17

At 7:31 p.m., a student reported an incident of theft by taking to an officer. The student reported her stolen tires on her locked bicycle next to Reade Hall.

Oct. 18

At 10:46 a.m., UPD took a report of damage to property. A student reported a dent on his vehicle. The location of damage was unknown.

At 12:56 p.m., a student reported to UPD that his brother committed simple battery against him while he was in the Odum library on 10/13.

Oct. 19

A fire alarm was set off in the PE Complex because of a laptop battery burning in a classroom. The disposition is closed because there was smoke without fire.

Oct. 20

Between 10:45 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., UPD reported theft by taking outside Bailey Science Building. A student’s bicycle was parked in the bushes and was missing when the student returned.

Oct. 21

At 12:09 a.m., UPD reported shots fired near Sustella Townhomes-off campus. Reports of seven shots were fired with people running. The disposition is closed because there was no perpetrator found, and no injuries were reported.

At 7:30 p.m. and 10:54 p.m., UPD reported theft by taking in Patterson Hall. A student reported an unknown person took his two cell phones while he was asleep. The disposition is closed because the student later reported it was a prank by friends.

Oct. 22

UPD reported theft by taking and identity fraud at an unknown location on campus on 10/17. A parking decal was taken from a student’s unlocked vehicle and was being used on another vehicle accumulating tickets.
