Although students can enjoy the Student Recreation Center for free, it is recommended to try other opportunities to stay fit.
If you are looking for a way to stay active, build self-discipline, or just punch out some stress, you should check out Fit Fighters Club, where a sweaty and effective workout is guaranteed.
Fit Fighters Club is currently offering a special deal of $40 a month for VSU students.
At sign-up, students will receive free boxing wrist wraps and a T-Shirt.
Dominique Moses, or “Coach Dom,” is the owner of Fit Fighters Club, located at 1304 Edgewood Drive in Remerton, Georgia.
Moses is a Certified USA Boxing Coach for 13 years and a seasoned Sports Performance Trainer.
Coach Dom insists discipline is the key to a stronger body and mind. He has trained over 2,500 clients, including 25 NFL athletes and more than 50 Division I and II college players.
But it’s not just elite athletes who walk through his doors.
His gym is intentionally inclusive, blending boxing fitness, HIIT training, amateur boxing, and sports performance coaching for all levels.
He’s even taught over a dozen self-defense seminars, many of them right here at VSU.
Without knowing what to expect, I attended one of Coach Dom’s classes.
We started with a quick stretch before diving into the basics of boxing.
He provided gloves and carefully ensured my technique was solid.
The class was intense yet energizing, mixing core workouts with high-tempo group exercises.
At every moment, Coach Dom was there for me. He was motivating and pushing us past our limits.
By the end of the session, my adrenaline was pumping, and I found myself eager to return to build my discipline.
VSU Accounting student, Madison Vargas, started going to Dom’s Classes a month ago.
“I was hesitant at first to go as I had never boxed before, “ said Vargas.
“They all made me feel welcomed and pushed me when I needed it. They won’t quit on you or let themselves quit either.”
Dom took a leap of faith and opened a gym that became one of the longest-running fitness spaces in Valdosta.
“When you train with me, “it’s about you and how I can make you better.
“I might not be a household name on social media, but my resume speaks for itself,” said Dom.
And he means it. Fit Fighters isn’t about showing off perfect bodies, it’s about building confidence, mental strength, and community.
Everything on social media is centered around the clients, not the coach.
So don’t be afraid to step into the ring. Make sure you check out Fit Fighters Club.
