Tiffany Hudson’s When You’re in the Room Album Review

By: Armone’ Gates, Editor and Chief

When you think of many uprising Christian artists who write songs with catchy lyrics that encourage you to walk with Jesus, no other artist comes to mind then Tiffany Hudson.

Tiffany Hudson is a renewed member of Elevation Worship, where she serves as a worship leader and co-writes songs that help people grow in their relationship with the Lord.

Many don’t know that Hudson has a new album that she released this year, where she has written many songs and collaborated with other artists to create an album that teaches people to invite the Lord into every room they walk into and dwell within his word.

There are a total of 10 songs on the album: “The Lord is Here”, “Jesus the only”,” Room”, Intercession, “Just one more time”, “Your Presence”, “The wonderful blood”, “You mean everything”,” Hallelujah here below”, and” Fire in my bones”.

Each song creates a space to worship and finds solitude and peace in the Lord. Also, the album was created live in front of a crowd at Elevation’s Church presence nights so through each song you can hear many people singing along or even clapping their hands.

“The Lord Is Here” starts off with a nice beat as a crowd can be heard clapping their hands, then Hudson leads into the song. This song is a declaration that no matter what fears or burdens your carrying within the space, the lord is already there. I love how this song sets the tone for the rest of the album, as it encourages people to surrender everything to the Lord and to welcome his glory and peace that dwell forever.

Next,” Jesus the only” featured David Mutendji who is also a musician apart of Elevation worship. This song is mainly about Jesus being the only one worthy of praise. As the first lyrics into the song say “Every other God is any Idol, they can’t hear you when you pray” emphasizing that the one the one true living God is Jesus. This song to me is an upbeat worship song that hypes you every time you listen to it encouraging and motivating you to praise the one true living God.

“Room” is the theme of the album “When You’re in the room.” This song features contemporary Christian artist John Wilds. The song starts off with piano chords being played along with violins in the background. It sets the tone for Hudson to come in with her first verse then Wilds follows with the second verse. This song conveys the message that when Jesus is in the room nothing else matters but the Lord. As it encourages believers to fix those eyes on the lord and seek his presence and fill his presence within the moment of worship. This is one of my favorite songs as it encourages me to invite the Lord in every space that I enter into every day and surrender it him.

The fourth song is pretty much an intercession which is a transition between full songs. Within this intercession you can hear worship music being played in the background.

The fifth song on the album is “Just one more time” featuring Leeland Mooring who is also apart from Elevation Worship. The song feels more so like a heartfelt song as it conveys the message of just having overwhelming gratitude for what the Lord has done. To me, this song opens the door to reflect personally on who the Lord is and his goodness that endures forever.

The sixth song is “Your Presence”. This song starts off with Tiffany stating that she does so many amazing this, but what she loves most in the Lord’s presence. Above all else that’s what matters most to her. Portraying the message that you can accomplish many things in life but the only thing that will satisfy you is growing within your walk with the Lord. This song feels so personal and honest to me which is why this is my favorite song on the album. When I reflect on my life personally without the Lord, I wouldn’t even be where I am today and his presence gives me the strength to keep going.

The seventh song on the album is “The Wonderful Blood” where Wilds is featured again singing alongside Hudson. This song reflects on the finished work of the cross, where Jesus dies on the cross for our sins and rose again. There is as a lyric within the songs that talks about the simplicity of grace “How something so profound can be so simple” stating how the immense gift of salvation is freely given to believers.

The eight songs on the album is “You mean everything.“. This song expresses the joy of knowing the lord and resting in his presence. The song also highlights that God is more than enough to satisfy ever human begins needs. I love this song because to me, whenever I play this song, the atmosphere feels still and it reminds me of the goodness of God and the peace that I have within him.

The nineth song is “Halleijah here below” as this song was originally recorded by Elevation worship, though Hudson reordered her own version of it for her album. The theme of the song is delighting in the imperfections of the world as we give praise God who is worthy of all the honor glory and praise. This song right here is a great worship song to mediate on when you’re having a having bible study or personal time with the Lord.

The final song on the album is “Fire in my bones.” The title of the song comes from the verse Jeremiah 20:9 that states, “But if I say, I will not mention his word or speak anymore in his name, his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut in my bones. I am weary of holding it in, indeed, I cannot”. This verse emphasizes that the word of God is so powerful that there is an unstoppable urge to spread the gospel to the lost and the broken. I love this song because as a believer, Jesus is the one thing that I’m after no matter where I go or what I do in life. I’m always after his love.
