Competition likely to bring in large crowd at pep rally

VSU’s annual homecoming pep rally will be held today at 7 p.m. in the PE Complex, featuring the 9th annual lip sync competition.

The competition will consist of 12 different performances.

Judges will pick a first, second and third place winner based on originality, creativity, use of props and synchronization.   The judges have yet to be announced.

The lip sync competition was started by Robin Vickery, director of Student Life, in an effort to increase crowd size at the pep rally.

“Homecoming is about current students and the alumni coming back,” Vickery said. “Students should come to support our senior football players and support our school.”

According to Vickery, the crowd is usually close to 1,000 people. Both the senior football players and the Miss VSU candidates will be announced.
