VSU Volleyball Continues Home Tournament Play

VSU volleyball will look to bounce back as it continues the Blazer Volleyball Fall Tournament at The Complex this weekend.

The Blazers enter Friday with a 3-5 record after falling to Embry-Riddle 3-1 Thursday. VSU will play Lander at 1:30 p.m. Friday before playing two matches Saturday. The Blazers will take on Paine College at 9 a.m. and close the tournament against Rollins at 4 p.m.

Through eight matches, VSU has recorded 393 kills while averaging 12.3 kills per set. 

Eva LaRochelle leads VSU with 67 kills this season. 

Avery Mullins has helped direct the offense with 176 assists.

Defensively, Eimy Negron Domenech leads the Blazers with 199 digs, averaging 6.22 per set. Negron Domenech was also named to the GSC’s weekly watch list. Kinsley Timmons has contributed at the net with 14 blocks.

VSU has shown its ability to compete in close matches early this season, with three of its first eight matches going five sets. The Blazers will have three opportunities this weekend to improve their record while playing in front of their home crowd at The Complex.

Paine College enters the tournament looking for its first win after struggling through the 2025 season. The Lions finished 0-15 while averaging 6.8 kills and 11.4 digs per set.

Rollins enters the weekend with a 4-4 record and has been productive offensively, averaging 12.4 kills per set with a .190 hitting percentage. Cameron Grange leads the Tars with 70 kills, while Remington Doggett has added 64. 

Friday’s matchup against Lander begins at 1:30 p.m., followed by Saturday’s matches against Paine College and Rollins.
