Students may be forced to take detours to class.
Though there will be major repairs and remodeling in various areas, the most significant construction is being done to both Ashley Hall on the main campus and the Health Sciences Administration Building on north campus.
Ashley Hall is part of a historic renovation process.
Once completed, it will have faculty offices for the departments of history, philosophy and religious studies. Ashley’s construction deadline is Oct. 1, while move-in is scheduled for later in the fall.
“This project recaptures space that was unusable and provides adequate offices for two departments,” Ray Sable, Director of Physical Plant and Facilities Planning, said.
VSU can also look forward to the construction of Health Sciences and Business Administration building being finished in about 18 months.
Faculty and students on main campus will continue to see hardhats, bulldozers and fenced off areas as workers finish projects on the Fine Arts Building, P.E. Complex, Continuing Education, Education Center, Powell Hall and Thaxton Hall.
