Your eyes begins to water. Your heart rates starts to kick up. Your blood start pumping. You’re afraid. Although fear is common, we all have different things that could potentially set us off. Some get frightened by heights, spiders, or snakes. While others…well not so much. So just in time for Halloween, we bring to you some of the top weird phobias that.
Papaphobia - Fear of the Pope
The photo says it all. This is the face of a man is meticulously plotting the world's demise. Be ready.
Coulrophobia –Fear of clowns
Whether it’s the floppy shoes, or the bright red nose, or the overly caked on mime face; clowns are freaking creepy. After Stephen King’s It, clowns just haven’t had the same appeal. I mean Ronald McDonald chased my 12 year old cousin out of a McDonalds once for Pete’s sake. They aren’t as nice as their rainbow colored attire would want you to think.
Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia – Fear of the number 666.
Try saying that 6 times fast…
Trypophobia – Fear of holes
When one first hears this, they’d probably imagine someone getting freaked out by body piercings. I mean, yeah it’s a fear of holes. Whether it be a hole in the ground, a body piercing, or an ice cube tray. It’s just holes, right? No….oh NO…it can be much worse than that.
Ephebiphobia – Fear of youths
Well this seems pretty apt after our millennial themed issue last week….
Arithmophobia – Fear of arithmetic
I’m pretty sure most suffered from this as soon as they started adding letters to math equations. After leaving school and going off to adulthood it’d seem unlikely that you’d run into math problems that you couldn’t do by counting on your fingers. It can be hereditary. And it can typically start after traumatic events…which may explain why I started to flounder at math after my 8th grade algebra class....I’m looking at YOU Ms. Pettigrew.
