A slate of musicians to bring mayhem to VSU

On Friday, April 27 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., VSU will host the Mayhem Music Festival. This event is open to the public, free for all and will take place on VSU’s front lawn.

According to John Wright, associate director of Student Life, and Robin Vickery, director of Student Life, there will be five total music performances from DJ Swin, Ben Wells Music, Sunday Service, The Cookout and Little Henry Band.

Domenick DeFrank, a junior theater major, is excited to see a friend perform again.

“I am excited for Mayhem, and I look forward to seeing Riley Green again because I’m friends with him,” DeFrank said.

Fair type food such as fried Oreos, turkey legs and funnel cakes will be available, according to Wright. The food will be free to all VSU students with a valid 1Card. Everyone is welcomed to bring blankets, coolers and chairs to listen to music and enjoy time on VSU’s front lawn. No glass containers are allowed at the event, though.

Abby Milner, a sophomore healthcare administration major, is also excited for the fun Mayhem will bring before finals start.

“I am definitely going to Mayhem because it is the last bit of fun before finals start,” Milner said. “I am most looking forward to the live music and spending time with friends before the semester is over.”

Hosted by VSU’s Office of Student Life, Office of Greek Life, Campus Activities Board and Housing and Residence Life, Mayhem is sure to be a big event to bring not only VSU’s community, but also the community of Valdosta together.
