VSU’s 2024 Family Weekend Schedule

The 2024 VSU family weekend is here, bringing events and activities your entire family will enjoy during their visit.

To kick off the weekend, on Friday Sept. 13, the Annette Howell turner Center will host 2RiverStation for a live music in the Art Park concert from 7 p.m. through 9 p.m. located at 605 North Patterson Street.

Community members are invited to bring their blankets and lawn chairs to this family and pet friendly event to relax in the park and enjoy the music.

For Saturday, there will be many activities. The recently opened VSU faculty exhibit will be available to view all the beautiful and creative work from our faculty members at 10 a.m. to 2p.m. Works will range from paintings, photography and more.

The Copeland African American Museum will also be opened for families to encounter the history and contributions of African Americans through multiple collections of artifacts.

At the Student Union second floor rotunda, families will have the chance to make memories last as the Campus Activity Board will be taking family photos.

At 7p.m., the family can drop by Bazemore-Hyder Stadium to cheer on our football team as they take on Fayetteville State.

To end the weekend, in the Student Union Theater, “Incredibles 2” will be streaming at 8 p.m. for families to relax and have a fun laugh before heading back home after an eventful day.
