SGA discusses dining services

The SGA discussed a proposed survey concerning the new dining services provider, mentioned the SGA Elections Announcement Ceremony and passed the motion to make an upcoming cookout mandatory during Monday night’s meeting in the Student Union.

The survey was proposed by Senators Jeron Draine and Paul Rosemond.  The goal of the survey is to allow students to offer their opinion to Chartwells, the company that will be managing the campus food and dining services starting in the fall.

“Food is an important part to any school, so our standards are high,” Jeron Draine, sophomore nursing major, said. “It is our hope that Chartwell can meet or excel past these expectations.”

Chartwells will be taking over for Sodexo, the current food service provider.

Demario Jones, president of SGA and a senior political science major, came up with the survey to offer feedback about how students felt about the new food service vendor as well as issues and opinions they may have.
