An opportunity to travel out West could be the best early Christmas present you could ask for.
Students interested in going to the Grand Canyon with CORE have until Friday to get registered. The trip will be during Thanksgiving break from Nov. 22-Nov. 30.
The once-in-a-lifetime trip will cost $375 for students and $425 for faculty and staff.
The week will consist of sightseeing in Arizona. Those going will backpack by day and camp under the stars by night.
“The students will be able to see the West in all of its glory, and it’s obviously one of the greatest sights on Earth,” Nick Selph, trip leader, said.
The money that is paid will cover costs such as transportation, equipment and park fees.
Students will need to bring several things with them; however, all pre-planning will be done at the trip meeting before departure.
“The list of things that students need to bring is extensive and will be covered at various trip meetings,” Selph said.
The trip will be led by three experienced trip leaders, so prior experience is not needed. However, a little knowledge on the park and camping is encouraged.
