After winning their first 12 matches of the season, VSU Volleyball fell Tuesday night to the nationally-ranked UWF Argonauts in Pensacola.
It was a close match the entire time, and VSU came out on fire taking the first set of the match by a score of 25-15, which ended UWF’s ten-set win streak. However, the Argonauts were able to take the next three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-19 and 25-21.
Coach Mike Swan said he’s very happy with the way the season is going so far. The team this season features a lot of quality returners with a lot of experience and the holes being filled with a very talented incoming class of athletes.
Coach Swan also mentioned that our history with UWF has been pretty even, with the home team usually just barely scraping together a win, which is exactly what happened Tuesday. However, the team was able to do what they had hoped and eliminated as many unforced hitting errors as possible, having one less than the Argonauts.
VSU Volleyball hits the road again this weekend as they travel to Florence, AL to take on UNA in a big conference matchup Friday at 7 p.m.
