As a way to get everyone in the spirit of love for Valentine’s Day, CAB has been hosting activities on campus as a part of their month-long Sending You Love campaign.
Events for this month ranged from movie nights in the Student Union to Blazer Ball speed dating.
On Feb. 7, CAB held a Valentine’s Paint & Sip. The event lasted from 7 to 9 p.m. and was held in two 60-minute-long sessions.
Couples, friends and everyone in-between bonded over art and drinks. Students got the chance to enjoy a calming activity amidst their busy school week.
“A creative experience where students can create things on canvas, sipping on mocktails and unwinding with friends,” Nia Hackney, a junior elementary education major and special events director for CAB, said.
The ambience of the event was very calm and sophisticated. It almost felt like students were in an actual art gallery. All materials were provided by the school, and all students had to bring an open mind and a love for creativity.
Participants got to follow step-by-step instructions led by two artists and by the end of the 60-minute session students were left with a beautiful Valentine’s themed painting they got to take home.
“My overall experience was good,” Camille Gamble, a sophomore health science major, said. “I usually come to CAB events like bingo night and I would attend other events.”
CAB has been hosting this event consecutively for the past four years and with a turnout of over 100 students. It is easy to see that the Paint & Sip is a hit with students every time it comes around.
Make sure to keep an eye out for more fun activities happening this month and have a happy Valentine’s Day.
