Although the Lady Blazers continue to hold their lead in the GSC east division going into Friday night’s match against West Georgia, the players may still have a sour taste in their mouth after last week’s match against Flagler.
VSU had two wins over West Georgia last season and hopes to achieve the same success in the P.E. Complex Friday at 7p.m.
The winning streak ended for the VSU volleyball team after the Lady Blazers fell to a record of 8-3 with a four game loss to the Saints.  After making a comeback in the second match, VSU couldn’t pull out the same results for the third and fourth matches.
With the exception of the team’s joint effort in the second game, no individual Lady Blazer was able to achieve kills in the double digits.  Junior Irene Hannan led the team with seven kills and Ruthie King and Arielle Parnell, both juniors, each reached six.  Junior Emelia Saulter,  set up 20 assists, while teammate Hannan had nine digs.
The Lady Blazers are looking to come back against West Georgia.
If you are unable to go to the game, check out the webcast on www.vstateblazers.tv, brought to you by U.S. Education TV, VSU Satellite Services, and the VSU Athletic Department.
